we have a 10 month old yellow male Lab called Sunny, he's a great dog but still quite excitable and the biting doesn't seem to be getting much better.

There seems to be two types of biting he's doing, one is he nibbles at our arms and hands if he's not getting attention and then the full on biting everything when he gets over excited. We are doing the ignoring him or walking out of the room when he gets over excited, I'm worried beceause I thought at 10 months he would be over this stage but some times it can take up to an hour of walking out of the room before he seems to get the message and when it happens out on a walk it's very hard to get him to stop the biting as we can't get away.

Any help of advice would be most welcome.

You have my sympathy - I have a 14 month old in whom this behaviour has resurfaced, in her case following a phantom pregnancy. I'm not an expert, but the advice given to me was to return to basics with giving alternative toy etc to bite and "time out".
I good piece of advice I had when outside is to throw an object they can retrieve etc and then reward with a game etc.

Hope this helps, I'm sure others will be along soon.
One thing with Cassie is that she tends to do it when feeling insecure for some reason, I don't know if you can identify what starts your puppy?
