    hi gang
I was looking at the 4 week photos from my breeder. Chocolate lab. All puppies are doing great!! My question is one of the puppies is honestly 2 1/2 times bigger then the other 8. I do not know if it is a male or female but just really want to make sure there won't be any major health issues down the road. I am going to pick mine soon and just curious. Thanks everyone

I'm no breeder but I wouldn't have thought it was possible for a 4 week old puppy to be obese. All the litters I've seen have quite a range of sizes but if you're in any doubt choose an 'average' pup :)

Could that be a puppy from another litter?

    That was my thought.
My daughter works with breeding animals and sometimes if there is only one in a litter (whether only one naturally, or other puppies have not survived) they are always relatively huge as they have an enormous supply of milk.
They do normalise size wise once weaned.
Thankfully its not a regular occurrence.

If it is genuinely part of the same litter, then might be a bit of a bully :D;)

When I went to visit Luna at four weeks, the breeder had another litter, too, who were a few days older. There were only four in that litter (Luna was one of ten) and they were ENORMOUS compared to "ours". At least three times the size.

Ella was from a litter of three and they were all huge!

There were ten or eleven in the litter Molly came from and she was one of the smallest. She grew... :p
