We have had our 9 week pup for 2 weeks. She seems to have settled right in: loves her crate and loves being outside - happy to hang out there on her own. I've been popping her in her crate for 30 mins when I need to head out but the weather is nice and I wonder if I could leave her in our fully fenced back garden instead?
I often think she must be lonely hanging in the garden while I work inside but she plays and seems pretty happy.
    Does anyone have any thoughts?

    Thanks :)

    Welcome :)

While I would recommend keeping her indoors, if you must have her outside why not prop the door open? That way it is her own decision whether she goes outside.

I think I might be a little worried about what mischief a puppy could be up to, unsupervised ! I remember my own lad, as a pup , wanting to eat everything he found , as they do !

I agree with Kate. Molly, as a pup that age was a shocker for picking up small stones, seeds and pebbles, anything that looked to her like puppy kibble I think. Yes, lovely to let the pup play outside with a door open, but I certainly wouldn't have been able to take my eyes off her safely.

Not me for two reasons. Fear of theft and my garden has plenty of things in it not great for dogs like most bulbs for example. I decided I'd have a pretty bare garden if I took out everything slightly dangerous :)

Not for me I'm afraid - especially at only 9 weeks old - too much they can get up to that would harm them if left unsupervised in a garden.

I'd recommend a pen outside so that she has some space but doesn't have access to the whole garden.
