    Hi everyone!
My puppy is 8 and a half weeks old and tonight will be his 3rd night with me.
The first night, I got barely any sleep (which was expected) but he wasn't too bad at all really it was more me being paranoid and not being able to sleep lol.
Last night, he got into his crate himself and fell asleep by 10, woke again at 11.30 (but didn't need the toilet - just wanted attention) fell back to sleep then up again at 1am (he did go to the toilet). I decided to sleep next to his crate with him in there as a family member was up at 3am for work and I didn't want him to be too disturbed. He slept great with me next to him, from 1.15ish until 6.30am! (Which was an improvement from 4.45am after the first night) I felt so much better after last night but my question is should I do the same tonight? As it is only his 3rd night here so I understand he is still missing home but I do not want to get into a routine of him expecting me to sleep in his sight all of his life as he is in the kitchen. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance x

To add to it: I am also wondering... maybe instead of keeping him in the kitchen and him on the floor maybe he will feel better in my bedroom? But for the last 2 nights he's been in the kitchen. x

I'd take him into your bedroom because then you get to sleep in a bed! It won't need to be forever -I've started with each of my three pups in my room and after a few weeks moved them back downstairs. They just need company / reassurance while they're very new -much like a human baby.

I would have him in my bedroom - and if you want to then as @Joy says move him back to the kitchen in a few weeks - I didn't do the last part but my aim was to have my boy in our bedroom anyway :)

I didn't have my pup in my room nor did I sleep with her, but many people on this forum did and either moved their pups to where they wanted them to be at a later date, or carried on in the bedroom. Don't worry about setting yourself up, your pup will be fine to go where you want her to.
