She began limping yesterday , on and off . I had some metacam left from her spay two weeks ago , so gave her a dose , and this morning she seemed fine . Then this afternoon , she was carrying her leg again , it was strange as she didn't mind me feeling her leg and foot , and didn't cry out but we decided that a Vet visit was the best thing to do , never forgive myself if it was something serious . So , in she went with her usual cocky attitude and not a blasted limp in sight , typical ! Vet Sue gave her one heck of an examination , the little monkey wouldn't keep still , but Sue couldn't find anything to worry about . I had been worrying about a knee cap injury , but no , all fine , so it is most likely a pulled muscle , metacam for a few days , short walks and she should be fine , so pleased we took her x
Fingers crossed that Nell is bouncing around again very soon - and just as she's about to have more freedom after her spay. All limps are worth having checked out - better to be safe.
Isn't that always the way? Our old lad BJ was a master at this trick. He dreaded the vet and we came to the conclusion that as soon as he realised where he was going, however much this, that or the other was jipping him, he would not show it in front of the vet. Funny little things these muts of ours aren't they? You were right to check her out though, can't risk it.
Reading your post made my heart beat faster, I was so relieved to read that all was well, hope it stays that way, little worry pots they are!
I'm glad there's nothing wrong with little Nell, always good to get it checked by a vet for peace of mind. xx
You're a good doggy mum, Kate! Have to say, my phone auto-corrected "doggy" to "soggy", which did make me chuckle a little!
