And this is the exact opposite side of the coin to the conversation about the guy shooting the aggressive dog the other day. One dog aggressive, the other we assume not, but perceived to be by an over-sensitive person. When people think it's reasonable to go around killing dogs for approaching them, then there's a real problem.
Me and my OH have spoken a few times about maybe getting me something to take on a walk with me to help if Stanley got attacked as I really don't think there would be much I could do. We looked into things like pepper spray or things that make a noise to distract the dog so I could grab Stanley. We would never want to seriously hurt a dog! So scary to think something could do that

Just horrible. We had the opposite thing happen in our town, where the man would stab the dog's owners and then take the dogs off to goodness knows where. People really are so evil.
How can a supposed animal lover EVER think it is acceptable to stab a dog as a means of deterring it? That reaction doesn't seem normal. As for the court's decision, well, as the old saying goes " ... the law's as ass"
Absolutely shocking, so sad. Quite possibly the guy needs medication or at least some sort of psychiatric care. That is not normal behaviour.
I wonder if dogs were allowed to be off leash there? If so then why did the man take a puppy to a place where I suppose he might have expected off leash dogs to come up to him? I wonder how old and what breed the puppy was; too big to pick up?
Ugh, that is bleak. A suspended sentence for randomly stabbing a dog? No mention of reparations to the family or to the SPCA (which is what you'd expect at the very least in a case like this). I hope that this man is ostracised by everybody who knew him. If there are mental health issues then these need to be addressed because something in the milk ain't clean with this story.

What a horrible thing to happen and what a pathetic judgment. Were it my dog in that situation I think I would be looking for an opportunity to explain to this gentleman the error of his ways ...
