Nells spay wound was healing wonderfully well , until today when I noticed it looking a little irritated on one end , I bathed it in cooled salt water but then we noticed a tiny spot of puss, panic ! It seems that sometimes, the dissolvable stitches just don't , they can take ages and cause reaction in some dogs , Nell would have to be one of those ! So , little course of antibiotics and back to the onsie when unsupervised , to stop her licking it . Vet also re checked the troublesome leg , and is still convinced that its soft tissue , we have to take Nell back in a week to have the spay wound checked , and if her limp is still evident it will be investigated further , good job she is loved , and insured ! x

Good job you spotted it soon, I'm sure she'll feel better once the antibiotics kick in. Thank goodness for the Medical Shirt.

Sorry to read that. My vet stopped using dissolvable stitches as once a wound broke down completely and all the innards came out on the examination table. Se he always stitched up the internal layer with nylon and thus no problems.

These days the wound is only about an 1" long or shorter.

Oh dear, poor Nell and poor you! I'm sure the wound will be ok by next week - we also had a small panic with Poppy after her spay, but in the end all was well. I hope her leg really is soft tissue and that it is better soon xxx

Poor lass! I'm sure she'll be all fine soon :)

Obi doesn't do well with dissolving stitches either.

Poor Nell. I hope the wound heals soon. At least it's cooler for her wearing the onesie again! I hope the limp just disappears too.

Thanks for the well wishes x The antibiotics are subduing her a little , which in turn is good for her leg . We had to smile last night , she saw the onsie coming and went behind the sofa , we pulled the sofa out and she legged it behind a chair . It took two of us 20 minutes to get the damned thing on her , just pleased it isn't hot weather, poor mite x
