I just heard the weirdest noise when I doing doggie tea. I opened the door and caught Moo savaging Rory. She'd got him round the neck and was trying to shake him. She's half his size growling like a tiger when I opened the door she froze and looked at me grinned then grabbed him again and started to savage him again. She's just so funny a tiny fierce little dog. I don't think she will ever stop being silly
Stanley's limping again Luckily we already have an appointment in the morning for a health check and his vaccinations so I'm going to get it checked out. Lots of cuddles prescribed for tonight.
Thank you Just got back from the vets and of course, he wasn't limping the vet tugged and pulled both his back legs and said they both felt ok and she could see anything wrong with him it all. She thinks it's a muscle he's pulling or he's getting a dead leg, especially with it easing off so quickly. But she said keep a close eye on it and she'll do some X-rays if it keeps happening. He's 24.6kg now. She said he's the ideal weight and looks very shiny and healthy with the perfect lab temperament (I think she meant bonkers ).
Have I missed something @Boogie? I see Mollie has either had an anaesthetic or some blood taken? Not for the eye test surely?
No, she had another urine infection so she had a scan to check her bladder and kidneys - and all is well, thank goodness.
We've been scrutinizing our finances today with a view to reducing our mortgage and setting up monthly budgets. We worked out in the last year Monty has cost around £3,200. But mostly OH pointed out that if that was the case over the last 3 and a half years (it isn't quite, but not far off) we could almost have bought a house in spain or portugal to renovate (our pre-retirement plan) I know there's a thread about how much your puppy/dog costs, but I am now on a restricted energy saving scheme so can't afford to charge my tablet tonight to search for it On the plus side, OH calculated when our mortgage is paid off, we can afford 3 1/2 labradors each year I will hold him to that. (As an aside, we worked out the cost of our cat. Around 12 cats for a labrador )
Indeed. I pointed out that monty was actually priceless. (Please take my post about finances with a pinch of salt)
I know what you mean , re the costs though ! Thankfully , Sams insurance covered his initial tests and surgery, but wouldn't cover the extra definitive testing we requested to prove type of cancer , so we coughed up , astronomical !!!!!! Millie cost us a small fortune , we couldn't insure her as a former stray with no history , and she needed emergency cornea transplant at an animal hospital , eeek ! Nell is insured but it doesn't cover spaying , so our costs over the past two years has been enormous , but I can honestly say that we don't begrudge a penny spent on them , even though its scarily massive at times x
I've recently had to reduce my working hours because of ongoing health problems. I'm ruddy broke I mean brassic but I don't care I rather have my dogs than anything else. I Own Nothing No Car House No Computer All The Normal Stuff that everyone else seems to have And I Just Don't Care. I stood in a field with Rory in the rain soaked to the skin stretching my arms to the sky feeling All the stress leave me feeling taller and relaxed for the first time all day.my dogs make me so happy. I 've just had a beer too.
Reality check about a 2nd dog though. I know monty has been unlucky health wise but couldn't do this again
