I just found a pink lump on the belly of my lab. What could this be? I have read hernias are usually in younger puppies
Ah disregard google lumps on puppy searches are never helpful - never mentions insect/bug bite etc or basic treatment if it is an irritation or anything. Yes I did that search when ours got a small lump on her face when was possibly an insect bite or knocked herself or anything.
It's good to have it checked out, but it's probably just a fatty lipoma. My dog had them from about 10 months old through his whole life and they never caused a problem. One vet told me as long as they felt "loose", they were probably harmless. However, when he'd get a new one, I'd have it needle biopsied just for peace of mind.
I just found a lump on the belly of my lab as well. Right above the penis area. What did you learn about your lab?
All lumps should be checked by a vet but most are totally harmless (it's very hard to tell the difference between harmless and not harmless though, hence the need for the vet). So definitely don't make yourself worried, because it's probably nothing of significance, but definitely do go to the vet. Over the years I've had various lumps on my dogs and all turned out not to be a problem. One was a form of skin cancer but it was removed asap and caused no further issues. All the other lumps were harmless. But I had them all checked by the vet.
I found a small, hard lump on my pup's belly when she was a few months old. It wasn't painful to her when I touched it and she didn't fuss over it. I figured I'd wait a few days to see what happened before I consulted the vet, and within 24 hours it shrank and then disappeared.
Just to check the obvious, but it's not the bulbis glandis, is it? The two occasional swellings at the base of the penis?
