One our little ones had to be put down yesterday, 14 yrs old, body started giving out, a yappy little bugger but a cool dog nonetheless RIP Pierre, we miss you. RIP Pierre Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...
It was lovely watching your Youtube video, starting to feel like I really knew Pierre, was in tears by the end...just a dear little chap. I hope you are both OK, it really is such a difficult time, my heart goes out to you xx
What a wonderful photo at the beginning of the video and a beautiful one at the end. You will have such memories of Pierre from the photos from youth to age. It was sad to see him ageing, but we all do, especially me at my age. Pierre looked as if he had a very happy life. So very sorry for your loss xxxx
Thanks to all for the well wishes, he was my wife's constant companion, she was his favorite human. We rescued the poor little guy about 11 or 12 years ago. He must have been abused prior to come home with us as he was extremely nervous and skittish. He did finally settle down and realize the world was not out to get him after a year or two. We did our best to give him, and all of our other critters, a good, safe place to live. Funny story, when we were adopting him we had to have a play date with Romeo, the other small dog in the video, they got along great from day one. Pierre didn't have a name yet, he was running around the place peeing everywhere, I said to my wife "He's a happy pee-er, I think we should call him Pierre" and that's how he got his name.
So sorry for you loss and thank you for sharing a bit of Pierre's life with us. Very cute story about how the little dude got his name. Run free, happy little pee-er.
Lovely story and I am so pleased he had a happy life after a bad start. I love his name but fascinated to read it wasn't for the French but he was a happy pee-er
