The plateau tibia in several places...top of the tibia where the thigh bone is supported! Knee basically I guess!

It seems the recovery isn't straight forward! I'm not great...a nerve is getting caught up in muscle spasm whenever I stand up and walk with frame, even though no weight goes in that leg. I've got numbness in foot which is same cause so needs looking at. Thought I'd be home by now a week on. I had images of getting on a plane in crutches next Tuesday...eejit

I am sorry, it sounds miserable and depressing for you. Let's hope by next Friday everything will be so much better.

That's awful. I hope it's soon sorted and you're feeling better. Will you need another operation?

Wow. That is a lot more involved than a total knee replacement. I hope you get it all sorted out. When I was 71 I broke the top of my femur in two places in a bike wreck. Ended up with a partial hip replacement (S.S. Ball, my socket) I was back on skis in 5 months, and pretty much have to think about which leg it was now. Hopefully you will have the same experience.

Oh my just catching up with forum news. So sorry this happened! I can't believe you have to be in the hospital for weeks! Yeesh over here it seems like they send people home waaay too quickly. Well at least Libby will be cared for. Rest up and try to relax and do everything your doctor says so you can recover as fast as is possible.

Oh @DebzC, what a nightmare for you and how horrible to have to stay in hospital and not be in your own home.
Hope nothing bad comes up on x ray.
Thinking of you and hope you're doing this one day in the not too distant future:cancan:!

Poor you! I smashed and dislocated one leg, knee, and the the L ankle. It was an awful few months, wheelchair bound for 6 weeks, then another 2 on a zimmer frame, walking after about 3 months or so. The hospital staff were great, and I was lucky to get lots of support at home from community physio. All that with a 10 week old puppy!
You will get there, it does take time and patience. The most important advice I can give, is do your exercises religiously and eat for wellness and health. Use and abuse your friends and family, and moan at us lot from time to time :)

Yes you will, absolutely. No for a bit, but not too long and you will be well on the mend :)
