Hello, I am mom to Flora, an 8 month old Yellow English Lab, and Luna, an 8 month old Chocolate American Lab. I still have a bit of sanity left, but it is running thin! My girls are not littermates, but they have relatives in common. We live in South Florida and spend most of our days in the pool, these girls love the water! We are first time Lab owners, I look forward to learning from those with more experience.

Hello and welcome! I have two litter mates, Willow and Shadow, who are now nearly three years, but I remember their adolescence very well! :D
I feel there must be a story behind why you have two from different litters?

I also have an 8-month old choccy called Luna, although she's normally called Squidge :D

Willow and Shadow are from field lines (what you call "American"), and Luna is from show lines (what you call "English").

Thank you for the warm welcome. We certainly do have our hands full with these two, I am so grateful that we have a pool, swimming seems to be the only thing that wears them out!

My Flora is a sassy girl, talks back and wants to be in charge of everybody. Luna is a typical baby sister, always pestering the other two and full of energy. She is a very sweet natured little girl, just very busy!

Yes, there is a story behind them being from two different litters. We lost our 7 year old Corgi mix to heart failure on Nov. 1st and my hound mix Jackson, who will be 2 on 8/29, was devastated, as we all were, it was so unexpected. My poor Jack was so depressed, not eating, just miserable for weeks. Although we weren't really ready for a new pup, his vet said we really needed to get him a canine companion. We have friends who have two sons that breed Labs and one had a litter that was ready to go to new homes on December 17th, so we decided on a little yellow female. We originally were going to go pick her up the week before Christmas but decided to wait until after. The other son had a younger litter of 8 chocolates that were not ready to go to new homes until December 30th, so when we decided to go up after Christmas, they sent me some photos and I fell in love with Luna, who was the runt of the litter. I didn't claim her right away, we decided to think about it on the 1200 mile drive up. It was a lot to think about, two very young puppies. Our Jack was only 16 months old, still very much a puppy himself. When we got to their house, only one puppy was left from the litter of chocolates and it just so happened to be Luna, so I took that as a sign she was meant to be mine and never looked back. There have been a few days that I thought I needed a strong drink and a good shrink, but oh how I love my sweet girls!
