    Ah, that's why some breeders choose not to mate chocolates and yellows together, because there's always a chance that you'll get yellows without the black gene, which means they don't have black noses. They're called "dudleys" and are, for some reason, deemed to be undesirable. I think they can be pretty darned cute :D

    His black nose might still turn lighter; they often do, but it's a different thing to not having the black gene in the first place. It's often attributed to colder weather and is called "snow nose". It can also just happen as the dog gets older. My yellow boy lost his very black nose quite early on - sticking it in the snow too much! It does get darker again in the summers, but never goes really black again. I love a proper black nose :)

    Aww I think the pink nose is adorable! I was hoping his nose would turn pink. Maybe it will change, like you said! We live in Wisconsin so the snow will be plentiful...wonder if his nose will change then!
