hi can anyone tell me if a lab has a hip score of 2/6 is that considered to be a healthy score or is it too uneven indicating a likely problem with the higher scored hip?
Many thanks as I am considering a pup from this lovely chocolate girl's litter her owner told me her hip score is well below the average.

I actually heard recently from someone taking a course from the Institute of Canine Biology that there is no explanation for unilateral hip dysplasia, so asymmetry is unlikely to be genetic. There is currently no data to support this, but it's worth considering, because if that 6 is a 2 that has simply suffered a trauma, then it's not bad at all.

Would I risk it myself? Hmmm, not sure.

Thank you that's so very helpful: I'm a little unsure too but I am no expert, it's just my feeling that I should not take the risk.
