@charlie Sam is the same as Charlie , he hasn't ever jumped up to the worktops , whereas Nell , if she could, would ! x However , he will help himself to anything edible left on the coffee table x

    Thought if some more.
Homer never licks the plates in the dishwasher.
Homer hardly ever counter serfs of steals from the coffee table. He once took a box of eggs my dad left out but then we always give him the empty egg box filled with some kibble to okay with so he presumed the box was left out for him and then he once stole a packet of chocolate brownies.
Homer never jumps up on people, he jumped up on me when going through the terrible teens but never onto others.
Homer never poops on the pavement or path, only on leafy undergrowth, making it much easier to pick up his poop.
Homer never misses an oppertunity to go for a swim, paddle or wallow no matter how cold the water.

I only teach" give me your rt. or lt. paw" as a way to have them lift their foot for toweling off when muddy, wet, or dirty. Never had a dog who would equate it to actually "paw" at me or anyone else. Guess I've been lucky or they have caught on to the context for what it's for.
