For me it's the working cocker they just seem wonderful little dogs. I was going to get one this summer but put all puppy thoughts off due to Moos increasing frailty. I honestly don't know ...........maybe next year. I think I might need another black lab too:rolleyes:

Their lives are so short it would kill me. My friend used to have them but they are only live 6 to 8 years if you are very lucky. They were fantastic dogs one ate her kitchen and another ate the boot half of her New freelander.

Shiva's lady was quite upset after the puppy class - a lot of us have been there. I wonder if she will buckle down a bit now..?

I felt quite sorry for Shiva's owner. She was clueless in many ways but trying to do her best and at least taking the puppy out (it seemed to walk quite nicely on lead to the shop) and not letting it be lonely. Of course we only saw a snippet of the puppy class but the trainer wasn't much help - when she demonstrated she didn't explain what she was doing.

Hopefully maybe the lights finally dawned on her. Bringing the pup home like that was so cruel and thoughtless.

Ummm.., it's quite difficult isn't it ? I'd like to think that she didn't really take the puppy home like that, and that she isn't really keeping it in a little flat, and somebody somewhere is supervising and it will educate people about the reality of life with a puppy. But I felt she was humiliated at the puppy class and I didn't like that.

I think she maybe the sort of person who needs a very big wake up shake. Hopefully her humiliation may spur her on to actually learn about her pup. Yes I did feel sorry for her too but she had time to sort out her home and what the pup would need. I know it's all probably staged to teach and inform because i honestly don't think any breeder would let a pup go with someone so clearly unprepared , but I did feel frightened for the pups safety

Was it Shiva? Thought it was Sheba! Anyway, I loved her owner's joi de vivre and I'm sure she'll get there, can't say I felt any less clueless than she appeared at times, despite all the research I thought I'd done. Puppy owning is a shock to us all right?

I wouldn't have taken a pup on a train but I thought she was commendable with her seeming lack of embarrassment, I'd have been bedside myself.

She was humiliated at the puppy class as @selina27 says, and the trainer was cold and unhelpful. How hard is it to show some empathy (the trainer)? I really felt for her when she was tearful outside.
