Indolent was one of the words used by the pathologist @Stacia . Apparently , whilst some dogs succumb to Epithelioptropic T Cell Lymphoma in a matter of months , others can survive for two plus years post diagnosis , a few even longer , which gives us much hope . Thank you for thinking of us xx
@Darrell Day I am so very sorry you had to say goodbye to your buddy Duke, he sounds like an amazing dog and how lucky was he that you came along to rescue him from an heartbreaking situation. Duke had a great life with you so please take comfort in that. I really hope Daisy Duke fills a little of the hole in your heart. xxx

Thank you all. I'm so happy I found this forum. I love reading all of the stories and seeing all of the beautiful dogs you all have. My Jake is filling the gap Duke left, although he will never replace him. I'm so looking forward to Daisy Duke making her forever home with us.
One year post diagnosis , so I thought I`d do a little update on my beloved Sam . On the whole, he is good , but we have noted one difference in that his stamina has taken a knock . We used to walk for miles most days, but he now tires after about an hour , so I take my lead from him and if this means shorter walks , so be it . I have found a total of three new lumps which the Vet has seen , we wont be removing them as they don't bother him in the slightest , but it is a sad sign that this damned cancer is active . His coat looks good, from a distance but close inspection shows a lot of thickening in the skin , and some scaly patches , which again are typical of his type of Lymphoma . He isn't too itchy , which is good because nothing topical will help , the problems are under the surface . The Vet is happy with him , and so are we , he is doing much better than I thought he would , he gets lots of foods to boost the immune system which I`m sure helps him to fight the fight ! All in all , our dear lad is exceeding expectations , to the point that I did question the diagnosis , but sadly it is definitive . Positive thinking though , and loads of love , bless him xx

Dear Sam, sorry you can see some changes in him, but excellent that he has isn't as bad as you expected he might be one year after diagnosis. Loads of positive thoughts sent.
Good to hear that Sam is doing better than you expected when you first got his diagnosis. Your excellent care has to be making a world of difference and I imagine that your adopting "Dr. Nell" has also added to his overall happiness, just as you wanted it to. Sending you both positive thoughts and hugs! And whenever you feel like posting more handsome Sam photos, they would be most welcome.
I think you're an amazingly strong woman, Kate, and the best doggy mum that Sam could have. Life has dealt him a shitty card but you continue to give him the best life possible. Lots of love and belly rubs to Sam.

Great to read this update on Sam and that he is doing really quite well & exceeding your expectations. He does sound like a very happy dog - thanks to you.
Glad Sam is doing well and better than expected overall. Shame that the walks are having to be a bit shorter for him, but the main thing is that he still enjoys them and that they are still a nice long and happy walks.
