It's how quickly it came up that is worrying me more than anything. He seems normal in himself, just slightly restless as he isn't having the walks he's used to and can't go off lead. There's no weeping from the scarring.
I'm hoping it's just bruising as she did say she had to really hunt for it.
I'll take a walk to the vet with him tomorrow and ask them to check it over.

I would too. Such a worry it's been a rough few days.

Looks most like a bruise but still worth running it past the vet.

Poor soul, what a huge wound. It does look like bruising, but double check with your vet - good luck.

I was just going to say it looks like a bruise to me. After what his op entailed it's not surprising!

Bless him! Hope he's feeling better soon! And you're not too worried x

Looks like bruising but I'd get it checked. Can you pop into the vets and let one of the nurses have a look?

Just an update on Thor, it was bruising that had come up from the op thankfully. Vet visit yesterday to have stitches out of the two smaller scars but he has a secondary infection in the large one so another week on antibiotics and the cone. He looks so fed up bless him, but at least the most worrying part is over and he'll soon be back to full walks and off lead again :) Thankyou all for your help and reassurances!

Poor lad! He has really been through it hasn't he? Shame he has to have the cone on for another week, but hopefully the antibiotics will sort everything out in a few days :)

Oh gosh poor boy! I feel for you, my lab has the same issue, and will need to be neutered sometime after Christmas. I'm not looking forward to it, if he didn't have this complication I would be content to leave him be, as he has no issues being intact, but what must be done must be done.
