Good Morning, Max had the TPLO SURGERY over 4 yrs ago and the other day while running he yelped and will not put any weight on the non operated leg. Have a vet appt in an hour to basically confirm that he blew his other CCL. My question is when this happens what option did you choose? Another TPLO or did you go a different route with the band's or TTA?

Max is now 10 and weighs 84 to 87 lbs. For his age he doesn't have any other health issues and is still moderately active.

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I'm sorry I can't help you with your question, but you might find some useful information looking at @JulieT 's posts about her boy Charlie who has had both his CCLs repaired. This is one long thread, but there are others. It might help?

Julie has a wealth of knowledge about the various ops. She isn't around on the forum any more, but her experience might help.

My dog had two TPLOs, but he tore the second only six months after his first operation. I was very happy with the results of both operations, though the recovery time was rough. Brogan ended up living to 13 years old and never had problems with either knee, no arthritis even.

There was another cruciate thread a few months back, however, where it was discussed that there are now different and perhaps better options than TPLO. I think it was @JulieT as @drjs@5 mentions above who described her dog's recovery and it seemed so much better than what Brogan had, with equally good end results. Definitely looking into the various newer options that are available.
