Does anyone else's puppy have a weird fascination with lotion and dryer sheets? When I do laundry, Aspen will grab the dryer sheet from the dryer and run away with it like it's a delicious prize. Obviously I take it away from him right away, but he LOVES them! He also always tries to lick my legs whenever I put on lotion. I tell him to stop but it's kind of hard to between laughing at him trying to lick my legs. Does/has anyone else's dog done weird things like this? Is it because of the scent or what?
Its not weird lotion has fats they like it. It attracts them like butter. they all do it, from body lotion though hand cream sunblock anything. Medicated stuff for things like dry skin they love that too. Vasoline they love too lipstick too. it makes me giggle too.
@SwampDonkey Oh okay that makes sense! It made me laugh the first time I put on lotion when we brought Aspen home and he just kept trying to lick my legs.
Quinn loves licking lotion and perfume. She will lick my hands, my face and my legs...she also likes to lick me right when I get out of the shower (the water maybe?). She's never bothered with dryer sheets...but she gets into a morning licky mood and will lick the heck out of the bed sheet until there is a big wet patch, which I hate, so I stop her.
Lilly used to lick body butter off my legs when she was little. Doesn't do it now. It was quite sweet
Red does this. Don't mind her doing it to me but embarrassing when people visit and she tries to do it to them .
Honey loves dryer sheets too. She's 2, and never misses a chance to grab one. She hasn't seemed to notice lotion (though now that I think about it I don't use it much), but she has taken off with more than one stick of butter.
Coco likes to lick body lotion. It annoys me , and I squeal and run away! (fortunately he doesn't see this as the great game it could be) He LOVES soap/shampoo/shower get and as soon as he hears the lid pop, in he runs to lick the lather off as fast as I can apply it. He has form for stealing bars of soap & eating them - we are extra vigilant in keeping the bathroom door shut now when he's home alone.
My boy isn't a licker but he used to love dryer sheets and baby wipes. Pooped one out a while back. Makes me wonder what else is in there. Lol
