Is your lab's tail this fluffy?

I have a 1 year old labrador called Marley and I recently noticed that almost every other lab I saw had shorter, less fluffy hair on their tails. I think I should mention that I never trimmed his fur, I only brush it regularly, could this be the reason?

Marley is super gorgeous. I have seen some Labradors with extremely fluffy tails, they are all different :) xx

Looks pretty lab-like to me, Molly's tail is much the same :) Gorgeous dog by the way.

He's a lovey colour as well as having a handsome tail.

Yup, it looks normal. My yellow has a fluffy tail, too. For showing purposes, it's considered undesirable, but it's not anything to worry about. Nothing to do with your grooming; you shouldn't need to trim his hair at all.

He looks fine. In the show ring, feathering of the tail is undesirable. Some wave in the coat is allowed but not extreme. If he is not a show dog, there is no problem and he looks lovely

    Lovely boy.
We are less fluffy but too tall. C'est la vie,
