I am looking to buy a portable Kibble carrier, Ruffwear make one but it's £37, I wondered if anyone in the U.K. had any ideas. I have been searching the Internet for the last hour and have drawn a bit of a blank.
Sorry should have said I want to purchase it from the UK not that the rest of the world won't have really good ideas.
How big do you need it to be? I remember seeing some before bit thought they were expensive too and not big enough for what I had in mind.
Do you mean to carry a small amount for a holiday? Have a look at zooplus, I have bought 2 from there that I use for a weekend away, or a week
Thank you, yes for a short breaks and a week away a few times a year. It's going to get a lot of use having no family close by I'm always visiting someone. I usually buy a 2kg bag of food but last night it dawned on me that it was proving very expensive. I'll take a look at Zooplus.
Ditto. For main "sack full storage", we use this (no complaints) https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00GYLYUBE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 For temporary storage of smaller portions, we just use large tupperware type containers. You can get all sorts of shapes that might suit you, some with handles, etc. For a daily kibble-as-a-training-treat, we use magazine dump pouches (compared to specific "dog" pouches, they are much better made, more robust, stand up to washing, etc.) like these: http://www.onetigris.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/TG-HSD02-CB-7.jpg (Bought from aliexpress)
Don't empty the food out into it, put the whole bag in - the air circulating round the kibble as it pours out makes it go off. .
I have a Curver storage container that I use all the time and just pop in the car for holidays. It holds up to 4kg of kibble but nowadays I only buy 2 to 2.5kg bags to maintain freshness so have plenty of room in the container for salmon oil, supplements and treats for a week.
Wow, those kibble carriers look outrageously expensive. When we're travelling for a couple of nights we pre-weigh portions of kibble into sandwich bags and tie the top. One bag is one meal. For longer trips we take a cereal container. Holly's never complained about the catering.
