Just like to share Sparky's first water retrieve. We visited some friends in Boston who also had a yellow labrador for some puppy playtime. He did an awesome job for a puppy who was apprehensive about getting in the water. It helped that the other labrador had no qualms going in the water. So proud of my boy!

(sorry for the grainy video, but my wife has to use a filter for every picture/video she takes)

He also did great during the 5 hour car drive. I walked him 3 miles before we left!

I love how their front feet break the surface when they're learning to swim...makes me smile every time. :)

He's so sweet!!! I love the way he kind of panics to begin with, but then gets into the rhythm...

hehe! Love it, and how happy everyone sounds! Nothing like a labrador first to make you grin...(unless of course it's the first time your labrador eats your shoes, book or sofa.....)

As someone who has NEVER had a dog who could swim, this always seems like a little miracle to me. Congrats on your first water retrieve, Sparky! :)

Yes! He reminds me of a motorboat when it first starts to sputter!

Yes, we were ever so proud and excited for him. I was quite apprehensive of letting him off leash, hence the 50 foot line he was dragging along.

Heheh, my puppy can still be a bit like that on occasion, but she's getting there. It does make me smile when it all goes splashy :D
