My 9 week old puppy won’t eat any of his dry kibble. I have tried to wet it as well but he won’t have more than a few pieces. He is currently on IAMS Smart Puppy Food which is what the breeder had him on when I picked him up. He has been with me for a week. In addition, he is on Panacur C as he has Giardia (from breeder probably). I have added a little pumpkin and he’ll only lick the pumpkin. The only way I can get him to eat his meds with some food is mix in with the Kong treats. I am thinking of doing this for the next few days while he is on the meds. It I am worried about his food. He’s still playful and runs around a bit.

Try boiling some chicken. Add small pieces off chicken to the kibble and use the water as chicken broth. Warm it a little but not too hot. Works like a charm. Pain in the butt to do every day though.

Glad he is eating now. Try adding a bit of kibble with the chicken and rice over the next few days and see if he will eat it.
I would consider changing his food as IAMS isn't very good for them.

awesome! like Naya said, mix the kibble in and slowly take away the chicken and the chicken broth. see if he'll eat the kibble without all the extra stuff.

you should try another brand of kibble, some pet stores have samples.

Once when Sparky was younger we went to Pet Smart and a Purina rep was trying to give him various Purina treats. Sparky is not one to turn down any food, but poor rep, Sparky turned his nose for every treat she tried to push on him. From what we've seen anything Purina resulted in Sparky having white blobby poop.

I switched him to WholeHearted grain free puppy food - chicken and pea formula and he is eating everything. I do mix it with chicken broth. However his stools are still really soft and occasionally he has diarrhea. Is this normal? How long before their stools are normal? Should I try another brand?

How many times a day are you feeding? Sometimes spreading the same amount of food over more meals can help. Most people feed four meals at this age.
