DH has just demonstrated ‘magic hand’ with Red. He also said she will go ‘middle’ when he’s out walking her and acknowledges how powerful this is. He now takes a small pot of turkey cubes that I cook and have a supply of in the freezer on his early morning walk with both dogs. He calls then his ‘obedience cubes’ with a twinkle in his eye when he rattles them in front of Red before they set off. He comes back with his whistle round his neck and an empty pot. I am so chuffed. DH has a lovely way with the dogs and they adore him but I thought we would never see eye to eye over training Red. He never used a whistle with Sky or treats. He’s watched me and taken on board everything :):):).

    You've cracked it now.

The OH's are MUCH harder to train than the pups :D

That's good news, what's your trick? Wish I could convince my OH on some training matters

Well done and yes always a little bit harder to train OH. Especially when they want a finished article (so to speak) and it is not happening fast enough
