Also, I would like to add that when they get a bit older (ours is 6 months), they are an absolute pleasure in the mornings.

No matter how badly you've slept, no matter how daunting the work stresses you know are in front of you, no matter how big your own worries are, you are practically guaranteed to wake up to a puppy who is so happy, active, full of energy and so pleased to see you. Just greeting our boy first thing in the morning feels like a double espresso :)

Yes, definitely keep breakfast to the same time every morning, that way his body clock will set to your routine.

For us it's 7am, some earlier others 7:30 or 8am - it's entirely your choice.

    :)

So what do you think I should do as he has been eating at 6.30am which isn't great? Should I hold him out or will this rough time be his breakfast time?

He is a pleasure it's just I need advice on ignoring him but then again he has been used to be going down within 5 minutes! Going out and being fed I'm just concerned this could get earlier!

What time did you usually wake up and start the day, pre puppy? That's the time to give him breakfast. He will fit in with you and soon get to know the time!

    :)

I set my alarm for 6.50am so I just need to ignore the whines? Not great having the cat shut in the utility and him in the crate in the kitchen
