Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but here goes:

I am looking for a good dried food for my 20 month old Labrador. He tends to have very soft faeces and I would love to find a food that would change this.

I have three dogs so cannot afford a very expensive food. The GSP has dried and is fine, the other Lab has a couple of blocks of a frozen raw meat with maize and vegetables and even his faeces are soft!

Anyone recommend a good dried food?

The one I use now doesn't fall into the inexpensive category I am afraid. We moved from our previous food as I wanted to move away from a cereal based food.
We used to use Asda Hero mixed with Proplan, AND some Asda Hero tin for tea. Her poops were good and firm on this complicated mixture (apart from when she steals windfall plums and pears). She came on the Hero from the breeder and we tried lots of others that made her too soft.
At the end of the day, she was pretty much ok on the Hero, and the tins actually looked quite appetizing (yes....I did say that!). Its pretty inexpensive and readily available being supermarket brand. I think it might be made by pedigree but not 100% sure.
Choosing a new food caused me considerable angst. Everybody has their favorites.
I used the Which dogfood website to help and I am not sure if you have seen it but it can search for you on a set budget and give you options and prices per day etc. Find it at http://www.whichdogfood.co.uk/
Not sure if that is of any help at all.
    Good luck!

Hi Stacia , it really is a mine field and sometimes difficult to find a food that suits a multi dog household without needing a second mortgage ::)
Both mine have Skinners Field and Trial , the salmon and rice variety , its mid range money wise and seems to suit both of them , nice firm offerings and shiny coats :)

We're on Skinners too - duck and rice. Suits Riley who has a slightly sensitive tum and not too pricey as these things go.

Meant to say, if you buy through Amazon subscribe and save, you can get about £4 off per 15 kilo sack :)

Oh dear, he is on Skinners Salmon and Rice and still massive and loose faeces! I think it must be him rather than the food then?

Thanks for the link to Which dog food, will have a look.

Will also have a look on Amazon, thanks for the tip :D
