Hello from me and Joy our 5 month old black lab in West Yorkshire. I've been enjoying following the forum since we got her in June but have only recently joined. Little Joy has been having some problems with ear infections, as our previous lab did as a pup and we've been back and forth to the vet a few times. Today he looked in her left ear and said it looked good, really clean,no infection. Then he looked in her right ear, looked again and said "whatever is that?" Apparently she has a piece of bluey-green thread (he said 'aquamarine') deep in her ear! well how did that get there?!

Hi @Candy, welcome to the Forum, Joy is a wonderful name for a puppy. I should think she must have rubbed against something and a loose thread caught in her ear and worked it's way in!

Hi Candy, welcome to the forum!
    What a mystery for sure.
Hopefully now her aquamarine thread is out she will feel much better!

As far as we know it's still in there. The vet's advice was to clean her ear as before and if it's not out by Friday he'll remove it under anaesthetic.Poor little Joy! We're searching the house for anything faintly aquamarine, can't think where it could have come from.

Hello and welcome to the forum. What a wonderful name Joy is for your puppy. I would not worry now your vet has found the thread, he will sort it out for you or should I say Joy. Please let us know how you go on.

Hello Candy & Joy from me & Coco. I hope your vet sorts Joy's ear out for her and she's comfortable.
