Hi, I have a gorgeous 14 week old black labrador cross called Poppy. Her dad is a labradoodle and mum is a working labrador. She looks 100% labrador. I would really appreciate some advice on her weight she was very skinny when i got her and still is, she weighs 5kg. She has gained 2.5 kg in the 2 weeks ive had her. She has been wormed etc. And eats like there is no tomorrow!! I am concerned that she is so light compared to all the charts etc that i see.her mum a working lab isn't big, her frame looks a bit smaller than the usual labs I see. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

My pup was only mini. He was 1.9kg at 9 weeks. About 12kg at 5 months.

He just grew at a slower rate and at 18 months he's 24.5kg. Still small for a male lab but perfectly healthy and a nice size to walk. IMG_8857.JPG

Hi and welcome , just to ask, did you buy a wormer from the Vet ? Some of the over the counter ones aren't very effective , and also bearing in mind that you don't often see worms in their poo, they can still have them though ! Pups do come in so many different shapes and sizes , mine was huge ( tall ) as a pup and still is at 6 years old, but if you are really concerned, pop her along to your Vet for a check up , and if your Vet is happy with her , then this is just how she will be , small and dainty and nothing wrong with that ! Bearing in mind too , that its far better and more healthy to be on the slim side , than overweight ( note to self re diet ! ) .
