When Charlie meets other dogs he won't play :( He plays all the time with Hattie and infact drives her quite crazy some days ::), why is that? Could it be because he's always on the damn training line? It makes me upset :'( Helen xx

I don't think it's the training line, generally if dogs are keen to play and won't be told no they'll play wether they're on lead or off. Riley used to play with anyone and everyone but as he's got older (matured?!?!) he's much more picky. He only really, really hoons around with dogs he knows well ;D

Charlie wants to play with anyone - but if they are snappy, or too rough, he soon changes his mind. Always starts optimistically though. Once he knows a dog is "not nice to play with" he never tries with that dog again. Doesn't matter whether he is on or off lead...

Maybe something else from Charlie's unknown past? :( :( :(

But be happy he has the lovely Hattie, and a warm loving home with you. :) :) :)

Charlie is such a funny boy, but he loves Hattie that's for sure :*, just a shame he just almost doesn't know what to do when other dogs want to play. When we brought him home it took him quite a while to play with Hattie, wag his tail all normal doggie things :(. One day it will all click into place for him. Your right Julie who knows what is in his past, probably best not to know. :'(

Not sure about the warm house Julie, blinking freezing INSIDE now it's October   but definitely loving :* Thanks

Dexter could learn a thing or 2 from Charlie.....he will approach some dogs more cautiously than others but essentially he will try and have a play with everybody we meet.....so far we've been lucky as me asking the question Is your dog friendly ,and getting the response yes isn't always what happens when we approach. You will be spared that Helen and always know he's safe from any snaps if he's playing with Hattie x

My dogs play with each other at home, but never play with other dogs when out, too busy doing interesting things, hunting for mouse, dummies, looking to see what I am going to do next!
