Five years ago this day , we lost this little angel, he was only 15 months old . I was a volunteer for the Blue Cross at the time , on their Pet Bereavement Support Service , but had many friends on the rescue side of the BC too . They used to take trips over to Ireland , bringing back as many needy dogs as possible and so I heard about Flynn . He was a " special needs " case , having been abandoned by travellers along with others , but he was very obviously a special case as he had been abused and suffered brain damage as a result , they couldn't leave him behind . I was asked if I could take him , we took Sam to meet him at the BC shelter in Tiverton , it was love at first sight, for all of us . Flynn couldn't ever go off lead , he was far too damaged to even begin to train , he wasn't housetrained and never really was , but we didn't care , he didn't have a nasty bone in his little body and he adored Sam to the moon and back . Six short months we had Flynn , it broke our hearts when we said goodbye , but those six months were packed with love . We seem destined to take on these little broken souls , but then we have much time, and much love which is repaid over and over . Rest easy our little Irish Rover xxxx

That brought tears to my eyes. When I see the innocence of little puppies, I always wonder what their lives will be in the future. Poor little Flyn, how he must have suffered, but he did find love and warmth and care and thank you dear Kate for doing it xxx

Oh bless, you gave Flynn love and joy, and that’s what he left this world feeling.
