Both dogs are in need of new harnesses, but which one's to go for. Any recommendations are much appreciated, we do like to try before we buy, but in our local pet shops they do not have what we want

There are so many different types, sizes, shapes, materials and not to mention colours. They are both in need of different harnesses:

Barley: Preferably custom fit, as he is a very awkward dog to find the right fit harness for, a front D-ring would also be very helpful, that has lots of padding, with a handle on it possibly, preferably red but could stretch to blue.

Puzzle: adjustable as she is growing, padded, a normal harness but different if that makes sense (we don't do normal things in this house), preferably pink or purple.

Any suggestions for sutible harnesses, or even harnesses that you have heard of would be great :)

Oh gosh...I own SO many harnesses I don't know where to start....

I'll limit myself to one recommendation for a back fastening harness.

I was thrilled with this product - it was a great fit, the V shape design left the front legs completely clear and the fleece padding meant pinching wasn't possible. It comes in pink and purple... :)

My gundog trainer confiscated it though (nothing to do with the harness, it was about my dog's passionate hatred of all harnesses).

Thats look good for puzzle, but barley already has one like that, but it does not fir over his head very well, then is loose on his neck

hmm... don't know. No problems fitting it over Charlie's head - it was snug round his neck if the girth was adjusted properly. The D ring on the back is supposed to be very far back (compared to other harnesses) so any strain is spread evenly across shoulders and chest. I suppose it could move forwards otherwise. Anyway, all dogs are different, I'm sure, so finding one that suits your dog is key.
