Hi guys i have a chocolate lab, he will be one on the 21st of this month - in the past week he's been acting really strange where he is continuously barking at a high pitch, the only time he stops is when he sleeps. If you tell him no or try to ignore it he growls and bites quite hard. It's really frustrating as he hasn't acted this way since he was a puppy

Hi bubba, how odd, has anything changed recently in your household?

I would investigate a medical cause for this, simply because whenever a dog’s behaviour suddenly changes it could mean something is physically wrong. High-pitched barking sounds like yelping to me which could indicate some kind of pain. So I would be taking my dog to the vet if this all of a sudden started happening.

My dog does a high pitched bark (it's not a yelp, I call it squeak-barking) when he is demanding attention. Usually when I am sitting down with my laptop & a cuppa and he thinks we should be doing something else
