I've decided to post here something one of my facebook friends posted a couple of days ago. She is an Agility trainer and judge - spends a lot of her life with her two lovely dogs running agility sessions. I don't know what the background to her post is, but I think the sentiment in it is lovely - and it applies not just to agility but to all the things we try to do with our pups (and indeed with our lives in general). Anyway, I thought it was too good not to share. Here is her post:

"All there is is now. I have had this mantra in my head for the last month. A lot of really sad experiences for friends lately has drummed it home. All we have are moments and then they pass and become memory. In these moments, we can either enjoy them whole heartedly for what they are or be weighed down with the disappointment that unforeseeable expectation brings. That's all agility is really. A series of moments over a day. They are gone as quickly as they arrive. A lot of us are guilty for over analysing the 'what if' and 'should I have' instead of appreciating the moment for what it was. A beautiful brief engagement with your dog that you have trained to perform in all manner of unusual and unnatural behaviours using only your body and voice as a guide. Today I let go of my what ifs and should haves and instead, put my dog first. Front and centre, as it should be. I loved every moment. He loved them too. I hope to be blessed enough for more runs with my dog. Time is so precious. 2018, we'll be back."

Very good thought and Agree. Through various reasons I have been like that for a very long time.
