    I think he just doesn’t think...he sees her training as stuff she can do, and stuff she can’t do. He knows she understands ‘stay’, and he needed her to stay to get her harness on because he was late for work. But he forgets that every bit of training I do is so easily undone, it’s not just something she learns and then will do it for the rest of her life! I think he sees it as learning a new word, so he thinks “Now she knows what the word ‘stay’ means, she will respond to it whenever I need her to”. Bah.

    But after all that ranting, he does make a very good lasagne so if he makes me one tonight, his testicles will remain unthreatened for another day. He’s banned from giving the Pig any cues at all now. Only magic hand.

    @Lara, how annoying.

    Or, in our case, he thinks "I've said the word plenty of times so she should know what it means". My bugbear at the moment is that OH has decided "No Barking" is a cue. Needless to say he has done nothing to actually train it as a cue. So - Jess barks, he says "No Barking", she keeps barking, I shout at him. None of us seem to learn. It's an excellent training system :)

    In honesty I've never expected OH to keep in line with any training I try to do (it wouldn't work :rolleyes:). He doesn't use the same cues as me - well, he might think that he does, but the tone of voice and gesture are so different that I'm sure Pongo doesn't link one to the other. And for recall he whistles rather than calls, so no confusion there.

    So...I'm hoping Pongo's view is: "Mum gives me cues and I get rewards for following them (sometimes). Dad just says things and does things and we play together and sometimes he is grumpy and sometimes he is happy and that doesn't bear any real relationship to what I'm doing but that's OK he's fun. And sometimes he sounds a bit like mum in the noises he makes but that is probably just coincidence."

    But then again, I've never done any really serious training with Pongo (as you all know and have witnessed :oops:!) so there's nothing really to harm there anyway....

    :rolleyes:;):)

    Harvey (who's name I had already decided was going to be Big Pete :rolleyes:) has found a home :(

    I am happy for him, but a little sad as I really thought he'd make a nice little addition to our family.

    OH can sleep easy.. for now :D

    They both got chews. Stanleys finished his straight away but Basil is still going. So of course he has to make Stanleys life hell.. :cwl::cwl:

    There are a couple of builders next door doing an extension. The grown-up one says hello to me & Coco every morning when we're going out for a walk. He strokes & pats Coco. Today, he spoke to Coco in the back of my car - so he was head-level with him. Coco gave him big kisses all over his face. The builder lapped it up. He has a Patterdale, who he described as "horrible". I don't think he meant it.

    Just when I think Ella's a sensible grown up, she steals my slipper, runs to the backyard and has a massive bum-tucking zoomies session. Much to the delight of Nathan, who clapped along shouting "Ella running!"

    The slipper wars have been running here for over four years! While I get dressed I have to guard my slippers as she'll dash in and grab one if she gets the opportunity.

    One slipper or another still gets a zoom around the garden/house now and then here too. Long may it continue.

    Walked at a nice heel into Pet Check-in at the Eurotunnel. Husky inside, Squidge loses her mind. Wet floor. Slippy. Ouch.

    Oh gosh hope you're ok? My dog nearly dragged me into the road during rush hour traffic yesterday. We were doing fine passing a Jack Russell on the other side until it started barking and lunging at us, at which point he thought GAME ON BUDDY!!! He somehow spun round me wrapping me in the lead and causing me to face backwards into the road with him barking and lunging at the Jack Russell. Ugh, not our finest moment. I don't know if it's raging hormones or what (he's 1.5) but he never barks like that. Maybe it was just frustration.
