Hi we have a 12 year old female black lab, she is fit gets walked daily and eats well. Her behaviour has change in the last few days. She constantly wants to go out in the garden and will not come back in when called, preferring to stay out in all weathers sitting in the garden. Any ideas?
Hi Bill and welcome to the forum With any sudden change in behaviour the first thing to look at is a health issue, including things that are pain related. So I'd get your girl along to the vet's for a thorough health check up. I'd take note of everything you've seen her do that is not typical for her and tell it to the vet. Let us know how you get on.
I agree with Rachael, I would take your Lab to the vet just in case there is a health problem. Or is there anything in the house that she has become fearful of? My Lab suddenly became very frightened of the 'peep' noise the smoke alarm made when the battery needed renewing.
Hi and welcome to the forum. I agree with the ladies above about vets being a first stop. Where abouts in the world do you live? I'm only asking as in certain weathers my girl wants to be out a lot more and she's very restless at the minute with the stormy weather we've been having.
Could very well be pain related or possibly but hopefully not an infection. As the other forum members have advised definite trip to the vets. All the best.
