Is it Thursday over there yet? The first visits were Wednesday, right?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: this is a tough crowd. I don't know whether to be flattered by the posting flurry here or embarrassed that your "killing time" posts are more entertaining by far than my puppy search. I love the "kilt vs. lederhosen" discussion. By the way "lederhosen" just means "leather trousers" so technically the braces are something else. But don't ask me what. Cute photo from Mags - that's indeed a typical weekend outfit for a lot of young men. Women usually save it for festivals, weddings and family photos.

What was that? You were actually wanting a breeder visit update, not the etymological origins of lederhosen? Quelle surprise. :D

Well, I just now got home. If anyone's counting, that's 12 straight hours of Labrador (including the 3 hour drive time). I'm completely beat.

Just to repeat, there were no actual PUPPIES in today's visits. There was a pregnant mama who is due on Friday, though. So does seeing "puppy lumps" count? No? Darn. o_O

Visit #1: Squidge (@snowbunny 's Luna) cousin, Cara. Very sweet if rather high energy girl, absolutely gorgeous, show lines but also used as a gundog. I could definitely see the resemblance with her Spanish/Andorran cousin.

Visit #2: Working line dogs, larger kennel (23 dogs in total), completely different look. To be honest, I thought they were a bit funny looking at first, but then really fell in love with fox red boy Rush, who kept laying his head on my shoulder while I was on the sofa (he is very tall!). I also did a bit of snooping for @Beanwood . :)

I need to digest a bit as I'm really tired and confused by the whole thing - essentially I got completely opposing info from each visit. Right now I'm kind of feeling like making the only wrong decision (a cryptic message for @Rosie ) as I'm overwhelmed. Part of that is jet lag plus trying to work full time plus a 12 hour dog odyssey plus knowing that I need to find another flat/house as the one I'm in I need to vacate Friday morning and I don't have a lodging plan yet. I've also got a trek into Scotland tomorrow for another visit so am looking at a 3am work start time so that I can do the puppy thing later.

So I'm just going to say that all that would make ANYONE feel a little overwhelmed, and reserve any commentary for when I've got a few of those elements sorted and am feeling more optimistic.

In the meanwhile, here are some "potential puppy parents" pics!

The adorable Cara (and pups if you look close)

Potential papa Rush - I could have taken him home tonight and been a very happy camper!

And for @Beanwood , the beautiful and oh-so-sweet-natured Furto.

Beatifull pictures of all of them. Sounds like fun and informative, but very tough timeframes by the sound of it. Must be puppy time soon, maybe a christmas puppy?

That Cara is so sturdy looking - I love her wide front legs and chest, her neat sit, and face. But you saw them all in the flesh so you know best! What a schedule!!!!!

Cara was definitely the prettiest girl (and her fur was like silk!), though the others were very sweet as well. Simply based on temperament, I was most impressed (or rather "charmed" lol) by Rush, the big fox red in the photos. I'm a sucker for a big cuddly calm boy. :)

I'm getting to meet the daddy dog of Cara's soon-to-arrive puppies today, in addition to the Squidge's daddy dog. Plus my first official crossing of the border into Scotland.

    Exciting! :happyfeet:

I already have the name(s) picked out - if only finding the pup was as easy! ;)
