With previous dogs, we always shut them out of the dining room while we were eating. (My parents had a dog who was a pest at the table and I was determined not to have that.) However for some forgotten reason we didn’t do that with Molly -instead she lies on the floor next to us with a filled Kong. When she knows lunch or dinner is on the way she usually goes and lies in her spot and usually we carry the Kong in and hand in to her as we sit down. But sometimes we hand it to her in the kitchen and then she carries it to her spot -and, this is the sweet bit, doesn’t start to eat until we’re sitting down too! I do love this behaviour, especially as I haven’t trained it, it’s just evolved.

How endearing that she doesn't start until you begin to eat, that's really lovely ! It's great that she's worked it out herself.

    Sweet girl and very clever.
It is amazing how they choose without you having trained them for certain things. We have something similar here

Just love it! They do a lot of that if you let them. Figure it out all on their own.
