On the last THREE walks I have encountered a different bitch in season. The last one was on a busy common, I was with a group of dog walkers, it was the busiest it has been for a while. I had Benson mostly on a long line and had arranged to walk with a couple of dogs walkers. I was working on a training exercise with 2 of them when Benson runs off and up to a lovely looking black lab on a long line. With a sigh, I start to trudge over no point in recalling him. I get close and to my horror realise exactly what the score was. Benson was completely frantic, and the bitch...well to say she was keen was an understatement. I glanced at the owner, and commented in a quiet and off-hand way..."If they tie, there is absolutely nothing we can do...Oh, but I will charge you £350.." I eventually walked away with a whining and frustrated dog...and that was the end of the walk. Why oh why???? I just don't get it. I really don't.
Yep telling em you will charge them always shuts them up. I used to think some people were just silly and not get what they were doing but since that idiot kept following me around with his in season bitch and telling how much money we could make I've changed my know mind there are some real chancers out there. He came to my house and let her off with Rory for about 14 months. He practically stalked us but I worked out her cycle and would know what he was up to. The last time I had enough and went what my OH calls ginger mental now he won't even speak to me and avoids me if he can. They are just some strange people out there
