    Hi all,

Slightly misleading title on reflection as Harvey is actually very well behaved when being fed and will happily let me stroke him anywhere while he is eating and even to take food out of his bowl to feed by hand.

However ... when playing, or trying to distract him from biting things that he shouldn't, and we hold a toy for him to play with he often (more often than not) tries to bite the hand of the person offering the toy rather than the toy itself. What would be the best way to focus his attention on the toy?

Cheeky Harvey! Biting your hand lol.

I'm not the most experienced but here's what I did with Rosie.
I made a loud ouch noise and stopped the game. If she handled the toy I'd give her some praise and keep playing. She HATES being ignored so it worked for her.

I also don't allow any rough doggy play in the house - like tugging or head shaking with a toy. That's for outside only - so play inside is quite gentle which also helped with any stray teeth I think.

Worked a treat for her. Also worked when she started nibbling my toes when I sat down. Although sometimes she still tries a sly tie nibble - sneakily as if I'm not going to notice!

    Good luck! Xx
