OH went to Holland today for a few days to visit a friend. Lady just won't settle. She's been keeping a close watch on the front door and every little sound she's up checking for her "Mum". Rather touching really. ;D

I'm going to let her sleep in our bedroom tonight. I hate being in the house on my own so she'll be good company. I hope this won't be a mistake!

    The slippery slope.......
Lilly spends more time on our bed than we do ::)
She is good to cuddle up with when home alone though......SO much better than when she was younger and used to wriggle 100x more than a toddler.
    :)

Well she'll be in her bed on the floor. I wouldn't dare let her on the bed! ;D

Charle got to sleep in our room last week, because he'd been sick (after his gundog lesson - too much chicken and excitement ::) ) and I was concerned in case it was more serious than it appeared (it wasn't).

He woke OH up 3 times because he wanted a tummy rub...taking advantage I thought! Beware! Definitely a slippery slope... ;D ;D ;D

Ah ha! A topic very close to my heart...how did Lady settle for you David?
we deliberated long and hard yesterday about sleeping arrangements over the next week as it's not really going to work ,me on the sofa with guests in the house ::)
We decided we would try Dexter upstairs in our room but try and make him understand it is only allowed on our invitation ::) cue a red blanket....the thinking being when he sees that he knows it's ok to come upstairs with us to bed......
I was going out last night so Chris was in charge....I came home to chaos and Chris on a sofa with Dexter hyper!dexter had gone nuts in the bedroom.....just toooooo exciting after 8 months of banishment he was apparently hurdling the bed, pulling the covers off, digging the covers and carpets, jumping on and over a table....I was laughing my head off....and all this after a Calmex tablet!it was late and we all needed to bed down so I got my sofa duvet out and Dexter got on it like a little prince, turned around a couple of times, lay down and flaked out....Chris went to bed in a huff!so Dexter had his chance and blew it!i think I'll just see it out on the sofa now.....the little mischief has stretched and stretched himself over the last couple of days and improved his flexibility because I saw him reach his tail this morning....5 more days hopefully if all goes to plan! X

OH banned dogs completely from the bed when he moved in with me. ::)

The goalposts have of course moved a little. Now Poppy is only allowed in our room IF she sleeps in her own bed. Except for in the mornings, when she is allowed up for a little cuddle... ;)

Of course, when he's away on business, she has to 'guard' me, and this involves sleeping in bed with me. Natch. ;)

Well Lady was as good as gold. Very excited about being allowed in the bedroom but settled straight on her bed. All quiet until 06:00 when the paper arrived and she was up and at 'em. She doesn't do that from her normal place in the kitchen so she was doing her job and protecting me. ;D

She is 4 so pretty steady and she has been in a hotel room with us before. The first time she leapt on the bed as soon as the lights went out, but soon got the right idea.

Barley and puzzle are only allowed upstairs on weekend mornings, puzzle comes up on my bed for a cuddle, barley tries to but can only get his front legs on, but he still gets a cuddle. But barley does prefer my parent bedroom as he gets fed biscuits in there when they have there morning coffee.

When barley has a chance he will go upstairs but he will just lie dwon on the landing looking down tha stairs at the front door, so he can protect the house :)

ah that's adorable, my parents-in-law have a lab that lies on the landing to keep watch over everyone :)

But when the postman comes it is a different story, he will go charging down the stairs and will jump up at the down, unknowingly putting his feet on the letter box so the postman cant push the letters through it ::), so he ends up having to ring the doorbell so we can remove barley from trying to stop the postman delivering letters, and cover him in dog hair as well :)
