Some of you may recall the Halloween Candy incident a few weeks ago, when our pups got into the pantry and ate 1/2 a bag of candy. The Pantry has a pair of bi-fold doors, with a pivoting bar installed across the opening so they can't be bounced open. We assumed that we had left the bar undone, and that one of them (probably Tilly) had bounced the doors open.

A few days ago, we came home and found a 5# bag of dog biscuits 1/2 gone in the dining room. We both thought we had latched the pantry, but assumed that one of us must have left it undone.

Last night we came back from the Gym, and found a bag of Flour ripped open on the floor. This time we know that the pantry bar was down, because I checked just as we left the house to be sure. Apparently Tilly has learned how to open the pivot bar and she already knew how to bounce the doors open, so we are entering a new phase of dog cognition.

I drilled a hole in the bar and the door, and put a brass pin in the hole last night. Hopefully they won't be able to work out that problem. I guess when we redo the kitchen, the pantry won't have bi-fold doors. It must run in the family, my Sister-in-law has a small dog that can open regular exterior doors, even those with round knobs.

Well, let's put it this way: "They got skills" LOL.

As you so well know, they watch everything. They probably have a sand table in the backyard where they plan out their capers.

You will know they have really advanced when you come home and find both of them sitting on the furniture channel surfing with a beer in their paws.

This is so funny, and that there are two of them planning and working together is even better!

We had a GSD who could open any door, she would just jump at the handle and let herself into any room. When she was only a few months old I was left with her while mum went out, but me and my friend wanted to nip to the shops we were only gone about half hour. We used to have old kitchen units with sliding doors at the bottom and one had been left ever so slightly open, although not enough for us to notice but at puppy height .... what treasures are to be found - namely a bag of flour. Well when we got back the whole kitchen was white, the dog was white, the floor was white, everything. She must have been shaking it like a rabbit, the air was filled with flour dust, oh how I wish I had taken some pictures then. You will have lovely memories of these cheeky little pups later on.

Tilly is a Teetotaler so she would have Cheese and Crackers. Cooper would have the beer. Cooper would be watching Animal Planet, Tilly would be asleep.
