Thanks for the tip @MF. We received a box of training mats. Harley has been happy and comfy on them from the moment I put them down. And then I found one of the cats on the one I was testing on the chair. Here is a little bit of relief from a hot summer.
Yay! I forgot how pretty they were - Snowie’s need a VERY good clean!! It’s amazing they’re so thin and yet provide so much cold. Glad the cat liked it, too! Snowie’s nails have punctured them - 2 holes in 4 years. Nothing duct tape can’t fix, though.
Those mats are a godsend during the hot weather. We've had Harleys for over 2 years and it wipes over so easily and looks new.
I must have missed the original post - can you give a link to what these are? (not that I am likely to need them....... )
They’re mats that contain a crystal that, when exposed to temps greater than 27C, become liquid and draw heat so that the mat feels very, very cold. It lasts for about 10 mins, depending on how hot the body lying on it, etc. When completely liquid, it stops drawing heat and needs to become crystalized again to work it’s magic. You can pop them in the fridge or freezer to speed up the process, or just leave them at room temperature. When I was in the US I saw that Bed, Bath & Beyond were selling pillows with this stuff in it - lovely COLD pillows!
