Hi everyone I have a 13 week old male Labrador who I take out in the garden every half hour at the moment to do its business. We have only had a few accidents around four In the house since we got him 4 weeks ago. However, I was just training him and he went into his bed and just stared at me and did a wee. He has never weed in his bed before and is dry over night from 12.30 till 7. Have I now got to get rid of his bed as know the scent us hard to get rid of and also why has he just done this?

Mollie did the same - and often. She’d run to her bed and just wee!

Fear not, it’s a phase they sometimes go through. I just made the bed inaccessible for a while unless she was ready for a snooze, she had plenty of pieces of Vet Bed around to snooze on, which were easier to wash than her bed.

Once they are toilet trained this all stops, and they are usually reasonably reliable by 20 weeks :)

And welcome to you from Mags, Tatze and Keir from Manchester UK

Tatze is my pet dog, a black Lab and she's four years old. Tatze means 'paw' in German.

Keir is my fifth Guide Dog puppy, a yellow Golden Retriever/Flatcoat cross and he's six months old.

    :hi:

Thanks for the reply. Really felt like I should just give up. we live in a flat and I have been taking him down every half hour to the garden and like I said have had hardly any accidents which ive been so pleased with and then he went and did that. I cant fit his bed in the washing machine so shall I just let him have a blanket for now? ive managed to wash the cover but have a feeling its still going to be scented.
