The young deer in our woods have been quite brave just lately, I often see them very close to us as we walk, just sort of keeping us in their sights, as if they are just curious. I guess they are used to human/canine disturbance. But this morning they were too close too the perimeter fence to make their getaway, and turned around to run straight past us, and of course Cass took off close on their heels. But I blew my recall whistle , she did instant whiplash turn and was back by my side. And walked to heel off lead. I do feel pleased, she's never been so close to them before, and one or two things had been getting me down for a day or two so now I feel I'm not such a rubbish trainer! Well not today anyway. Now to get the same response from other dogs!
That’s fantastic @selina27 - don’t feel like a rubbish trainer - we all have something with our dogs that we feel isn’t so good. I bet you got a real buzz from her instant recall - well done .
Congratulations on being a great trainer. The temptation to chase must have been great and your training of the recall is ace.
That's wonderful, very well done. When your chasey dog chooses you over the chase, it's SO rewarding!
