I do not recommend listening to that with the sound up - the voices in slow mo sound quite terrifying o_O:D

Funnily enough, I edited it with my speakers off. Once I posted it, I turned them on, and I concur. One to turn on once your OH has drifted off, just to scare the bejeebers out of him! :D

Love this - reminds me of my childhood Dalmation, Kris, who was a big smiler.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that while smiling is not natural for dogs (that grimace would normally mean something like a snarl to other dogs!), that our dogs sometimes learn to copy humans and communicate by using our facial expressions, in particular a smile! Isn't that amazing??? Clever AND pretty, that Willow!

I've also seen it described as appeasement. I think we'd all agree, she's not trying to appease us here :)

I wonder if there's a genetic element, too, a bit like tongue rolling. Her mum, Ruby, is a bit smiler, and so is Annie, her sister. Shadow has never done it, though. Conchita does, but she looks demented :D

Rourke smiles like that and can now do it on cue, only trouble is he thinks the word "smile" means smile and jump on Mum :)

Molly does it very occasionally. I’ve read of the ‘Chessie grin’ so always thought it came from her mum.

That is lovely! None of mine smile really...Casper has a funny way of blowing out his "cheeks" when happy..his mouth is relaxed, sometimes he opens it wide showing his teeth, but all very soft :)
