We have a weekend full of snow. Normally we don’t have so much snow. Yesterday when we came home Finn had bleeding paws. We bought Vaseline to protect his paws. He likes it very muchwhen we rub it on his paws. We can feel the harshness of it. What do you use for snow/ice paw protection?
Mushers Paw is excellent. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mushers-Se...F8&qid=1512910227&sr=8-1&keywords=Mushers+Paw
Gosh, I don't use anything. Never had paw problems. BUT, little salt used here and we don't walk much on roads anyway. Booties might help but make sure they are non-slip.
I used Ruff Wear boots along with the little socks they also sell and they worked really well (no slipping, never accidentally lost one). It takes a while for a dog to get used to them, though. It also takes a very good poker face not to laugh WHILE the dog is getting used to them.
We have never had problems with our labs before...It is just that Finn got bleeding paws that we realized that he might have dry paws! He was out in the woods and came back home with it. It had snowed very much and was very cold! So not a walk on roads.
We don't use paw protection either and have not had a problem. We did try Ruffwear boots just to be sure they would work if we needed them. We used to carry them with us, but don't bother any more.
