I'm ashamed to confess I went ballistic with Scout this morning . :(

When we got back from our walk we checked under the pine trees for evidence of cat. Found some.

I then let them off scout training line on. They had a run then Scout shot into a gap in the bushes. When I got to him and got hold of line he came out chomping what must have been cat muck.

I blew up I'm afraid. He then continued to ignore me so I put him on lead and marched him inside.

I know it was the wrong thing to do and pointless. My only defence is I still don't know if Scott's going to need a blood test because of his bowels. 5 days after antibiotics to see if deteriorate again that's been pattern up to now. I'm still worrying about that then Scout eats cat muck which is probably what did Scott.

The guilt I now feel is unbelievable. :'( It's a good job the cats were nowhere near!!!!!

    Thanks Julie.

I'm sure Scout had forgotten almost instantly. ::) although we did have a roll about, tummy tickles etc to make up. I'm just cross with myself now.

It'll all blow over especially in this wind ;D ;D ;D

I shouldn't worry. Perhaps he'll realize that you really, really don't like him eating cat poo... Sometimes I honestly think we are too careful with our dogs, and so unwilling to tell them off that they perhaps don't always understand that there are things that we absolutely cannot live with.

If him eating cat poo is one of those things, then I think letting him know, in no uncertain terms, is ok.

    Just my personal opinion. :)

I do sympathise, in my garden there is a bed that the cats bury there poo in, and Otis digs it up and eats it, if Im not watching him, just managed to get him out of the habit of eating his own poo, its all really yuck isnt it. There was one day back in the summer, when Otis leapt at me and bit me, he was playing, but it really hurt, and I really told him off, so at least he knew he had gone to far. Dont forget dogs live in the moment, and Im sure once the moments over he will forget all about it. Maggie X

    Thank you Karen and maggie.

Scott catches on quick when he gets told off Scout tries to push his luck if he gets the chance. They are completely different.

Just seen the beep beep cat wandering around our garden. I'm going to put some chicken netting in strategic spots now so even if the cats can get in the bushes the dogs can't. There's nothing I can do about the bottom of the garden though will just have to keep doing the on lead patrols !

Don't worry, I have been there too....none of us are saints, and as long as it doesn't occur on a regular basis I think they can tolerate the occasional "freak-out"....it does make a person feel bad, though, that's true.
