Whilst David was walking Charlie today he met a distraught lady with a pack of Beagles, she had lost one a while ago as she had a photo and contact details which she gave to him. There were some people helping her try to find her dog so David joined in with the search but nothing. That poor little dog will freeze to death tonight if they don't find her as it's below freezing. I hardly ever see anyone walking in this area :(

I will call the lady tomorrow to get an update, if she hasn't been found I will walk that area tomorrow just in case she is held up in some of the deralict farm buildings. I will take some food and water with me and hope I see her. It's an awful worry, I can't stop thinking about her and I really hope she is OK or has been found. :(:(

Such a worry. If you see or speak to the owner again, tell her to put an article of her clothing where she last saw her dog, as they often make their way back to that spot. Dogs who get lost get very scared, so might be frightened off if you see her.

Great advice Stacia, I will tell her. If I do by any chance see this poor little dog I won't approach her I will call the owner and stay close so as not to scare her. Thank you xx

Fingers crossed for the little Beagle. I know you're not keen on Facebook, but when a dog/cat/pet goes missing here, there is huge support on a local pets Facebook page and search parties are mustered. It is quite humbling to see how many people will help.

An update. Apparently this little Beagle is a newly rescued ex breeding girl, very timid, scared of humans, she was spooked on a walk so ran off. I have just been out for 2 hours with food and water asking everyone I saw had they seen her, then a breakthrough, there was a car parked in a layby so I asked them had they seen her, yes they had just a minute ago heading down the hill into our village on the road. They took the owners number from me and headed down to try and find her, I phoned the owners to tell them she had been spotted. I cut off through the Common hoping she was trying to head back to where she was lost but nothing. At least she is still alive, she has covered so many miles. She must be so hungry and frightened but everyone is searching and keeping a look out for her.

If you haven't already please I urge you to join for free www.dogslost.co.uk This is a great organisation that alerts anyone in an area about a missing dog, so the more people alerted and searching better the chance of reuniting lost or stolen pets with their owners.

Keeping everything crossed for this poor little girl xxxx

Great news, this little Beagle was caught today by a lady out running. It was -4 degrees here last night so she must be a hardy little dog. There are no updates on her health or how she is, all will be posted by the owner later. So happy for the family having their girl home xx :):)

Poor little dog. And owner. What a rough time both of them have had. All's well that ends well though.
