I've woken up bunged up. I think I may have your cold Karen. Must be one of those newfangled computer viruses ;)

If it's the cold I've had it's a rotten one. I spent last weekend in bed - unheard of me - and I'm still suffering with lack of energy and little appetite. Hope everyone recovers quickly :).

Hope Poppy is doing ok still.

Very sorry to read that several of you have nasty colds; there is a virus round here which gives people very sore throats and cough, cough, cough, sounds as if it could be the one affecting you. I hope it soon passes. @snowbunny hope you feel well enough to do all that massive cooking!!

Poor you @Karen, I hope Poppy settles down, and this really does blow over:hug:

I have 3 very out of sorts dogs here too. I have had a virus which has really gone to town with me, I have ended with fluid on my lungs. Coupled with of stress at home, very busy time at work, both of us, although everything is now calming down, I am seeing very subtle behavioural changes in the dogs. Casper is now so reactive there is no way we can take him out in public, Bramble is in a full-blown phantom pregnancy and poor Benson doesn't what to do with himself!

I believe that our dogs not only trigger stack our external environments but internally too. All those little changes at home which inevitably have some emotional impact on us, I think our dogs sense this and do find it unsettling over a period of time. We were just saying last night, with a glass of wine, that's it, we are more or less ready for Christmas, but actually, I am not so sure our dogs are! :) I don't know what the answer is tbh though! Possibly a down-side to being so in tune with our dogs?

I hope everyone is feeling better soon, and the dogs too!!!

I am feeling very slightly better today, but I do feel for poor OH. We've had to put everything off that we planned this week - we cancelled a drinks party we were going to have, couldn't go to the Christmas market as planned, cried off going over to friends for supper, and today I've sent OH off on his own to the carol service and mass. Not very Christmasy. Good news is that Poppy seems fine. Merlin however has diarrhea, I think as a result of the worming tablet he had yesterday.

@Anne123 - hope you are better very soon. @Beanwood - that sounds like the perfect storm at Christmas, hope things improve! @snowbunny do hope you aren't getting this disgusting cold... @SteffiS hope you get your energy back in time for Christmas day! Everyone else, take care of yourselves!

Wow, @Beanwood, that sounds very stressful. I hope you return to normal soon. Squidge's phantom hasn't really moved on beyond crying when she chews her squeaky toys. The huge Orvis bone is her favourite to take to the sofa for a chew, making pathetic noises. But in and of herself, she's fine otherwise, phew!

@Karen, sorry you've had to cancel so much, that's such a shame. I'd love to go to a German Christmas market. They know how to do that sort of thing! I'm glad Poppy is seeming OK though, that's a relief. Get better soon, Merlin!

I'm too busy in the kitchen to have a cold, and I seem to be holding it at bay. No nose drips in the stuffing ;)

    Merry Christmas, everyone x

Goodness me....sending get well wishes to everybody.
I have looked in numerous inflamed throats, been sneezed on , coughed on, and home visited several pretty unwell people with gastric flu and/or Noro virus this week, paranoidly washing hands and disinfecting in an attempt to avoid the various lurgies.
    Urgh.
Hope we all manage to rally round for Christmas.
Good luck to all humans and dogglies x

Gee, really sorry to hear about all the poor sick people. I hope you still manage to have an ok Chrissie day and that someone is appointed to make sure you’re fed and watered. Get well soon!
